Garden Books
- The Plant Book: This book was originally published under
the title "Botanica" in 1997. Since then it has been revised
twice. It has 1020 pages, and a wealth of information on
thousands of plants. It has an index of common names and
synonyms, and an index of plant groups. These two indexes make it
quite easy to find what you are looking for. The one problem I've
noticed with it is that the zones are a bit off, but nothing
drastic just give or take a zone or two.
- The Bonsai Workshop: This is a great book for the beginner
bonsai enthusiast. It talks about the various aspects of care,
selection of plants, and the basic tools. Also with easy to
follow text and pictures of the techniques that are used to
create these wonderful peices of living art.

- The Tipping Point: This isn't a gardening book, but I
think that everyone should read it. Tipping Point contains some
very wonderful insights into the human psyche, and why things
happen the way they do. This book has given me much to think
about.

Fiction
- Outlander: This series comprises six books so far. These
books are hard to fit into a single writting style. The author
takes from the many different genras to weave this wonderful
tale, and creates a story that is truly captivating. The detail
is so rich that you can almost hear the fire crackling an smell
the wet wool. The author writes in such a way as to make you feel
like you are looking with your minds-eye at real people in a real
place. I haven't read the sixth book yet, and she also has two
other books; a companion to the Outlander series called The
Outlandish Companion, and a book about one of the characters
in the series called Lord John and the Private Matter. I've also
not read either of those yet.

- The Taking: This is a book about the end of the world, but
not in the way you think. I don't want to give to much away, but
this book has a great twist. Which is something I love in movies
an books. I think this is one of the best Koontz books I've
read.

- Odd Thomas: Here is another book that is high on my list
of favorite Koontz books for the very same reason I liked The
Taking. The first of his books that I read was Lighning when I
was 13, and since then I've read most of them.

Science Fiction
- Otherland: This series comprises 4 books. I thought these
were wonderfully written books with a great story. I love
technology an they give a great idea of what might be. The
characters are top notch almost real. Also I like the news breaks
at the beginning of the chapters.
